Exploring DEIB Education in Elementary Schools

The project explores how DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) is built into elementary school programs around the world. The goal is to learn what works and what’s hard, then use those insights to shape the Belonging Games toolkit. Students will research how schools foster a sense of belonging, compare different approaches across cultural, social, and educational contexts, and map the pros and cons. They’ll use their research and classroom skills on a real challenge and share clear, useful recommendations. Their work will directly support Mental Health Activity’s ongoing efforts.

The app features a character with five ingredients for creating good moments: Health, meaningfulness, mindfulness, togetherness, and curiosity. To fill these jars, users can take bite-sized lessons. The app also personalizes its content to each user's specific needs to enhance resilience and well-being. Students will work in teams to develop a marketing plan for Joyi, a new mental health education app. Each team will design and execute a creative marketing campaign to introduce Joyi to 100 people. Content Creation for a mental health project

We want to be recognized in our community and nationally for the work that we are doing. We have a great story to tell and we want it to be picked up by media outlets. We need students to create press releases for us. Students should be prepared to: Help us refine our story to something compelling and livable. Identify media outlets that are most beneficial to us/most likely to pick the story up.
